It's the weekend

It's almost 4PM and I'm anxious for the weekend. Work has slowed along with the economy, I guess. It doesn't mean that the clients are not still running me around in circles trying to meet their needs. I am currently trying to figure out how to get Word Templates to a client of his letterhead and second sheet. Mind you, we in the professional graphics world, generally do not work in Microsoft nor do we generally work on PC. I'm a MAC based designer and am working in a MAC based Microsoft program. I've managed to get these Word templates to other clients without a hitch. However this client, I have a feeling is not up to date on his programs on his side and I think this is causing a problem. I've even pulled the PC guru in the office in to convert the files into a PC file and resend to the client. I just got an email from the client saying the PC files sent today are still not working for him. I've found that in my job I must learn patience in dealing with clients who do not realize that they are asking us to solve issues on THEIR computers and that the issue has nothing to do with the files we are sending. They will never see it from that perspective until someone can educate them on technology. It's a frustration and not really what I prefer to do with my design time at work. There have been countless times when clients ask for their logo files and do not know how to properly use the files given to them. I've spent many of times on the phone walking a client through the process of "inserting" their logo file into Word. I was never told that would be part of my job description! Someday I will be outdated by technology and I will be the pain in the neck "client" who will be oblivious to my ignorance. Today, I'm on the other end though and trying to not pull my hair out. The weekend couldn't come at a better time.
