My little helper who thought peanut m&m's smelled way better than the turkey liver treats I was giving her.

This month's Visiting Teaching message/gift to my sisters.
Okay, so Visiting Teaching is certainly a program I believe in. I enjoy getting to know the sisters in my wards over the years. It's a program set forth by God in order to help us keep up on the spiritual and temporal needs of our fellow sisters in the gospel of Jesus Christ and in his spirit of serving. I have the privilege of being in a companionship with my roommate, which generally makes it easier to plan our monthly visits to our assigned sisters. CJ is the Young Women's Presdient in the ward. Having watched her for a year now, I'm pretty sure that this calling is one of the busier callings and requires a great deal of time and dedication. Working our visits around her schedule is challenging! This month we didn't' think about how the holiday weekend was going to "traffic jam" our next Sunday with our Home Teachers coming as well as our Visiting Teachers coming. On top of CJ's schedule, our HT and VT coming, it's Singles Conference weekend and therefore we have commitments to that event as well. So our schedule this sunday will be 9am-12 Church, 2:30-3:00 Home Teachers, 3:00-3:30pm Visiting Teachers, 4:00pm, run our gift to our Visiting Teachees. 6pm-8:30pm Singles Conference Fireside.
Not being able to have the time to give a normal sit-down visit I scrambled to come up with some sort of gift that we could give to our sisters and still share a spiritual message. I got up this morning, fired up the computer and worked on a card design and a spiritual thought. I pulled the story from Elder Cook's "It's Better To Look Up" talk and placed a thought in the card. I ran off to get them printed and then off to Hobby Lobby to find a cute container to hold a snack. I was then off to get the Jeep washed...it's needed a bath for long time. During my wait I gave my brother a call in Tennessee, which was long time coming. I'm needing to work on that better in my life. With the Jeep freshly washed, I was off to Target to pick up treats, jeans for mom and jerky for dad. Upon arriving home I assembled the treat package. In my head I felt like the end result would be cute...however not always do things actually work as well as they do in my head. This one did. I was pleased and am excited to take them to our sisters tomorrow.
Long day...not that I've got those tasks done, blogged for the first time in...like...forever...I need to go tend to my second job, cleaning the dental office and finish laundry. Where in the world does all the time go! We'll see if I can get back to blogging again.
